Thoracic Surgery NP or PA
About the Role
PeaceHealth is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Thoracic Surgery team at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.
You will work alongside an experienced and collegial thoracic surgeon and nurse practitioner in a thriving thoracic surgery service line.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinic for preoperative and postoperative evaluation of thoracic patients
- Conduct hospital rounds and perform inpatient consults
- Assist in surgery (open, thoracoscopic, robotic)
- Perform procedures including chest tube placement and removal, thoracentesis, placing sutures, and suture removal
- Write orders and complete accurate documentation
- Take call with the Thoracic Surgeon
- Provide patient education and counseling focusing on thoracic and pulmonary pathology and treatment
Work Environment
- Join a multispecialty group with established general and bariatric surgeons, advanced practice clinicians, a breast surgeon, vascular surgeons, and trauma surgeons
- Strong primary care base within PeaceHealth
- Use of EPIC EMR system
Qualifications
Applicants must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with relevant experience in thoracic surgery or a related field.
