About the role

The Fiscal Technician 3 position will use independent judgment and application of a variety of fiscal rules and procedures to coordinate and process third-party sponsorships and student account related transactions within Student Financials in Campus Solutions.

This position is primarily responsible for the creation and assignment of Third Party Contracts to provide accurate billing and correspondence to third-party sponsors and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include supporting the quarterly student fee audit to ensure accuracy and providing support for Cashiering under the direction of the Cashier Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison & Communication: Act as the main point of contact with internal stakeholders (Financial Aid, WorkForce, International Programs and Apprenticeship) and external partners (third parties).
  • Compliance & Guidance: Review and interpret memorandums of understatement (MOU) and sponsorship agreements to ensure compliance and proper set-up of Third Party Contracts (TPC) in ctcLink.
  • Maintenance & Reporting: Maintain reconciliations of Corporate Accounts, analyze discrepancies and develop plans to resolve. Monitor and report on third-party invoices, prepare and track invoices, and provide billing information to Cashiering so payments can be accurately applied to Corporate Accounts.
  • Support & Analysis: Assist District Finance and Accounting staff with summary information and analysis of records and reports including Corporate Account receivables aging and year end Due To-Due From processing. Assist in quarterly review of student fees verifying accuracy; investigate and correct errors in collaboration with College and District staff to ensure compliance with established Student Fee Schedule.
  • Customer Service: Serve as custodian of funds deposited; review and consolidate receipts, bank deposits and other fiscal documentation to ensure accountability of funds. Provide support to Cashier's Office as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software. An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting patience, objectivity and understanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize various problem situations and provide support with past due accounts, billing processes, and monitoring accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills to ensure customer service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Skills

  • Ability to operate office equipment, receive and interpret data, and prepare various materials.
  • Ability to exchange information with supervisor, lead, co-workers, and students.
  • Ability to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion.
  • Work is performed primarily in office settings with frequent interruptions and encounters noises typical of these settings.

Pay

Salary Range for this position is $45,120 to 58,632 annually (depending on experience).

Schedule

This position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8am to 5pm.
