Role Overview
The Third Party Strategic Advisor (TSA) is a senior member of Risk, Compliance & Integrity who advises senior business leaders at IBM and Red Hat on compliance and integrity issues. This role involves developing, implementing, and enhancing global compliance policies and processes, as well as providing advice on risk, ethics, and compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enhance global compliance policies and processes in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Develop, implement, and enhance compliance training internally and externally
- Provide advice to stakeholders around risk, ethics, and compliance with laws and regulations
- Thoughtfully integrate client input and legal requirements to inform changes to compliance mechanisms driving improvements to productivity, efficiency, and quality of outcomes
- Stay informed of new laws, regulations, and industry trends
- Advise senior global leaders on compliance and integrity issues
- Collaborate across a range of functions and departments to advance the department's objectives and drive a consistent approach to compliance and ethics across IBM and Red Hat
Education and Technical Expertise
- Doctorate Degree Required
- 8+ years of relevant compliance experience in-house
- Law degree preferred but not required
- Expertise in laws and regulations governing technology companies in jurisdictions where IBM and Red Hat does business, including but not limited to the Foreign Corruption Practices Act, GDPR, UK Bribery Act, AML, Trade Compliance, and EU Whistleblower directives
- Mastery of written and verbal communication, including brevity, precision, and clarity
- Positive, can-do attitude in the face of challenges and calm during crisis
- Self-motivated and efficient
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Business Operations Acumen: Deep expertise in Business Operation Centers of Excellence, with the ability to leverage knowledge and best practices to drive business excellence and process improvements
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with various stakeholders to drive business outcomes and support the development of strategies
- Data-Driven Insights: Proven ability to provide data-driven insights to inform key initiatives and support the development of strategies to drive business outcomes
