About the role

Join the CAT ThinkBIG Program at Owens Community College and gain hands-on experience with Ohio CAT while earning your degree. This two-year program combines classroom learning with paid shop internships, preparing you for a high-demand career as a diesel technician.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Caterpillar curriculum at Owens Community College; maintain a strong GPA and graduate successfully; represent Ohio CAT professionally on campus.
• Train under experienced mentors in the shop; perform real-world diesel repair and maintenance tasks; progress to more advanced assignments over time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required before program start).
• Basic diesel knowledge or mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and use necessary equipment.
• Physical requirements: lift/carry up to 40 lbs; pull up to 50 lbs; stand, sit, climb stairs, and enter/exit machinery; frequent hand/wrist/finger movement; work in environments ranging from quiet offices to loud shop settings.
