About the Role

A Thin Films Production Specialist must demonstrate a safety-first work routine, have a proficient understanding of the technical aspects associated with assigned processes, and work with process engineering or management to resolve production issues. The role involves coordinating workflow, cross-functional communication, and training or cross-training as needed. This position supports optical and metal coating processes and inspections, requiring moderate experience and judgment to plan tasks, solve problems, and adapt procedures with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of optics and maintenance of chambers
• Source preparation and deposition of coatings in chambers
• Photolithography, measurements, defect mapping, and packaging
• Critical metrology (spectral evaluation, metal thickness, wafer flatness)
• Cross-functional communication and teamwork to track work-in-progress (WIP), move production, and address issues
• Updating documentation, creating reports, or logging data as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of combined or related photolithography or optical deposition experience
• U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (active clearance required after day one)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deposition or photolithography equipment, including ESD, safety, and security protocols
• Proficiency in Excel and production tracking systems
• Ability to work safely with deposition equipment, chemicals, and raw materials in a lab setting with basic gowning requirements
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of FOD (Foreign Object Damage) and FOD reduction methods
• Experience with Microsoft Office and troubleshooting

Pay

The hourly range for this role is $32.00 to $37.00. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Factors considered include role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
