Thermal Systems Design, Hybrid Powertrain

Responsibilities
- Own, design, model, and deliver a novel thermal system for our Hybrid aircrafts thermal design
- Select the right technology, materials, and design a complex and novel thermal system
- Design it so it’s light, performative, and cost-effective
- Prove that the system is as good as you think it is - through test definition
- Work with stakeholders to deliver the complete system
- Manage the design lifecycle, including interfacing with manufacturing and test teams
- Attend and present your designs to stakeholders
- Interface with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and stress / FEA engineers
Requirements
- BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field
- 5+ years experience in mechanical design
- Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of complex system design
- Experience with stress and finite element analysis
- Experience with Siemens NX and suite of tools
- A systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents
- Proficiency in PDM and PLM environments
Qualifications
- Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, turbegenerators, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains
- Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification
- Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methods
Skills
- Systematic approach to problem-solving

Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
