About the role
In this role within the engineering team, you will be responsible for both proposal support and project execution related to thermal design and pressure parts of heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs). You will work closely with cross-functional teams, supporting technical clarifications, developing optimized designs, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. This position involves collaboration with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, support project milestones, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform thermal sizing and preliminary pressure parts calculations for proposals.
- Develop detailed thermal and pressure parts engineering for awarded projects.
- Review and validate engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Support proposal teams by evaluating technical risks and developing optimized solutions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Assist project teams during engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning phases.
- Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering tools, standards, and methodologies.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in thermal design of power boilers or related systems.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Proficiency with process-oriented thermodynamic design software.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME, ISO, and EN norms.
- Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and pressure parts design.
- Experience with HRSG design, steam generation systems, or thermal equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical documentation, and mechanical design principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and thrive in multicultural environments.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of pressure-retaining materials used in power generation equipment.
- Experience with risk assessment and design optimization methodologies.
- Exposure to international project management and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
- Certifications related to thermal engineering or project management are a plus.
Pay
$110,000.00
