Therapy Services Specialist (Bilingual Spanish)
About the role
The Therapy Services Specialist (Bilingual Spanish) works under the guidance of occupational therapists, collaborates with managed care organizations to support individuals aging in place receiving home or community-based services. The role is fully virtual, offering flexibility and autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Performs telephonic and/or virtual assessments to identify participant needs.
- Provides recommendations to managed care organizations for types and hours of supportive services required.
- Conducts objective assessments for program participation to determine appropriate levels of support and services.
- Completes annual or frequent assessments based on program requirements and participant needs.
- Educates program participants and managed care representatives on home modifications, durable medical equipment (DME), assistive technology, or other adaptive equipment.
- Aids the clinical team in recommending equipment and services as needed.
- Collaborates with the support team to report observations and outcomes.
- Documents all member encounters according to documentation standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of a college-level program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or an accredited two-year program for a Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in social service or health care field.
- Current active, unrestricted license or certification as a physical therapist assistant or occupational therapist assistant in applicable state required.
- Certification and/or licensure appropriate to field of specialty as required.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency required.
Qualifications
Requires a combination of education and experience, which provides an equivalent background, or a graduate of a college level program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or an accredited two-year program for a Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in social service or health care field.
