The Therapy Patient Services Specialist is the friendly and helpful face of TOA – generally, the first person who interacts with our patients and their families as they arrive to their therapy appointments. The Therapy Patient Services Specialist sets the tone for a great patient visit by professionally and compassionately attending to the patients as they arrive for their appointment at TOA. Demonstrate exceptional customer service and patient focus to make each encounter as positive as possibleWork closely with clinical colleagues and administrative team mates to develop a cohesive, high performing teamVerify patient demographic information upon arrivalUpdate and change insurance information as appropriateScan insurance cards and drivers licensesEnter referrals into the computer and link it to the appropriate caseCollect co-payments, coinsurance's, deductibles, and balancesPrep daily clinics for upcoming appointments and print related documentsCreate a record of the appointment, or an encounter and printEnsure that all documentation is entered accurately and swiftlySchedule follow-up appointments as necessary Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required.At least one year medical office administration experience is preferred, with demonstrated success understanding some experience in an orthopaedic office a plusKnowledge of healthcare insuranceKnowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including experience with computer systems.Experience with an EHR or NextGen is a plusThe ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility – including flexibility in work schedules to adjust to necessary clinic hoursAn energetic and enthusiastic pace at work, with the ability to swiftly and accurately manage the flow of patients through the clinic, without any diminishing focus on patient careDependability, with a reliance on the capacity to be at work on-time, every day so our patients can receive the care they need in a timely manner TOA is an equal opportunity employer.
