Therapy Care Specialist - Acute Infusion Pharmacy Technician
The Position
The Therapy Care Specialist will work with SoleoRx TCMC model and utilize national and local resources to facilitate high quality care of a patient with specialty pharmacy needs. The Therapy Care Specialist will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to oversee logistics of a patient’s dispense and prescription maintenance, assess data capture, and serves as the point person to coordinate patient care across all layers of the patient care continuum while on service with Soleo Health.
- Act as single point of contact for specialty patients and as liaison with Soleo branch personnel to coordinate timely medication dispense and delivery
- Works under supervision of specialty pharmacist and/or branch pharmacist to capture assessment data, ascertain patients supply needs, and schedule new and refill medication deliveries
- Run daily and weekly pharmacy reports as needed
- Answer phones and warm transfer calls to appropriate location, monitor incoming faxes, and monitor TCMC refill queues
- Send orders to physicians for signature
- Work with intake/reimbursement staff to maintain active patient insurance coverage and actively pursue authorizations and re-authorizations with the auth/billing staff at the branch level
- Documentation of all patient interaction and care coordination in the designated system of record for clear and consistent communication
- Complete therapy specific training as required
- Provide back up coverage IV compounding medications as needed
Schedule
Must be able to work 100 percent in office
Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, full time 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 1 year on the job work experience working as a pharmacy technician meeting the job requirements listed above
- Must have experience scheduling acute infusion medication refill deliveries
- Must have IV compounding experience - specialty infusion pharmacy or hospital experience preferred
- Must be Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of New York in good standing
- P.TCB/NHA Certification, preferred
- Prior experience in home infusion, compounding and/or specialty pharmacy required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Licensed/Registered Pharmacy Technician license required for the state of New York
- Prior experience scheduling patient refill deliveries, preferred experience with home infusion
- Prior customer service/patient services experience
- Basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
