Therapy Care Specialist - Acute Infusion Pharmacy Technician
About the role
The Therapy Care Specialist will work with SoleoRx TCMC model and utilize national and local resources to facilitate high quality care of a patient with specialty pharmacy needs. The Therapy Care Specialist will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to oversee logistics of a patient’s dispense and prescription maintenance, assess data capture, and serves as the point person to coordinate patient care across all layers of the patient care continuum while on service with Soleo Health.
Responsibilities
- Act as single point of contact for specialty patients and as liaison with Soleo branch personnel to coordinate timely medication dispense and delivery
- Works under supervision of specialty pharmacist and/or branch pharmacist to capture assessment data, ascertain patients supply needs, and schedule new and refill medication deliveries
- Run daily and weekly pharmacy reports as needed
- Answer phones and warm transfer calls to appropriate location, monitor incoming faxes, and monitor TCMC refill queues
- Send orders to physicians for signature
- Work with intake/reimbursement staff to maintain active patient insurance coverage and actively pursue authorizations and re-authorizations with the auth/billing staff at the branch level
- Documentation of all patient interaction and care coordination in the designated system of record for clear and consistent communication
- Complete therapy specific training as required
- Serve as back up IV compounder as needed
Requirements
- Must be able to work 100 percent in office
- Must be able to work Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, 40 hours per week with flexibility as needed
- Preferred experience with scheduling acute infusion therapy refill deliveries
- Must have minimum of 1 year on the job work experience working for a Specialty Infusion Pharmacy, Hospital, or retail scheduling refill deliveries/IV compounding medications.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year on the job work experience IV compounding in a hospital or Specialty Infusion Pharmacy setting.
- Must be licensed/registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Alabama - in good standing
- Preferrred PTCB/NHA Certification
- Prior experience in home infusion, compounding and/or specialty pharmacy required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Licensed/Registered Pharmacy Technician license required - State of Alabama in good standing
- Prior experience scheduling patient refill deliveries, preferred experience with home infusion
- Must have a minimum of 1 year on the job experience IV compounding medications in the hospital or specialty infusion pharmacy setting.
- Prior customer service/patient services experience
- Basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
