Responsibilities
- Provide stabilization to patients presenting at Urgent Behavioral Solutions when requested.
- Achieve basic principles of crisis intervention, including immediate access to assistance, involvement of significant others, and medication management.
- Conduct interviews and assessments, identify present problems, and develop preliminary treatment plans for new patients.
- Offer follow-up services and coordinate with regular service providers or implement evidence-based practices for patients without ongoing providers.
- Be knowledgeable about involuntary detention laws and procedures.
- Report to and be supervised by the Director of Urgent Care Services.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office environment.
- Prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Normal range of hearing and manual dexterity for operating office equipment.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and handle irate individuals.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in behavioral health or human services field meeting the criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as outlined by Missouri Department of Mental Health.
One (1) year of experience in behavioral health, preferred.
One (1) year experience in crisis intervention work, preferred.
