Therapist – The Loft at Eight Corners program
The Loft at Eight Corners is a teen mental-health program based on the national “living-room” model. A collaboration between Pillars Community Health and NAMI Metro Suburban, the program is located in Brookfield, IL and is staffed by an interprofessional team including Recovery Support Specialists, Family Support Specialists, and Mental Health Professionals.
About the role
This part-time position (20 hours per week over 3 days, 1–8 pm) works on-site to provide mental-health screening and assessment, brief individual counseling and support, facilitation of group activities (educational and therapeutic), and crisis intervention. The role also supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of program activities and curriculum tailored to the needs of teens and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental-health screenings and assessments of program participants to identify appropriate program activities and resources.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops, educational groups, and therapeutic group activities.
- Develop program curriculum and monthly activity calendars aligned with program goals and participant needs.
- Collaborate with NAMI and Pillars Community Health staff to evaluate program impact, measure outcomes, and revise activities as needed.
- Provide clinical support to Recovery Support Specialists on site.
- Deliver individual, family, or group counseling and interventions based on identified needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and mobile-crisis response for participants in crisis at the program site.
- Offer case management to advocate for participants needing additional services through PCH, NAMI, or other community organizations.
- Work collaboratively with other Pillars Community Health programs and staff.
- Engage in community outreach to educate about The Loft, raise awareness of youth mental-health services, and assess community needs.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with agency policies and complete required outcomes protocols.
- Attend agency meetings and in-service trainings.
- Stay compliant with all training and certification requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Experience working with young adults, adolescents, children, and families.
- Preferred experience in developing and facilitating youth group activities, crisis services, or school-based services.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referral sources, and community providers.
- Self-starter who can work independently and adapt to daily program activities.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, decision-making, organizational, and planning skills.
Pay
$22.50 – $30 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, clinical licensure, and bilingual language skills.
