About the Role

Provide quality, person-centered treatment that facilitates recovery and wellness for people experiencing substance use and/or mental health concerns. Conduct screenings and assessments using evidence-based tools and provide individual and group therapy to help individuals reach their identified goals for improved well-being. Services are provided in the community and within the jail.

For the child/youth-focused role: Provide quality mental health treatment as part of an interdisciplinary team that facilitates healthy development of children/youth and increased family stability. Services are family-centered, delivered primarily in identified schools within the Grand Rapids area and in home/community to support the work. Position includes assessment, individual and family therapy, and crisis response. Positive outcomes are achieved through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma-informed care, hope, and evidence-based research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings and assessments using evidence-based tools
  • Provide individual and group therapy
  • Deliver services in community settings and within the jail (substance use/mental health role)
  • Provide family-centered services primarily in schools and home/community (child/youth role)
  • Perform assessments, individual and family therapy, and crisis response (child/youth role)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate positive outcomes

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in social work or related field
  • Possess MCBAP CAADC or willing/able to obtain State License (LMSW / LLMSW / LPC, etc.) (substance use/mental health role)
  • State License (LMSW / LLMSW / LPC, etc.) required (child/youth role)
  • Experience working with adults with substance use disorder (SUD) concerns (substance use/mental health role)
  • Experience working with children and families (child/youth role)
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record
  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred (child/youth role)
  • Experience providing community-based services is a plus (substance use/mental health role)
  • Knowledge of Kent County resources is a plus (substance use/mental health role)
  • Knowledge of school systems/supports in Kent County preferred (child/youth role)
