About the role
Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking Therapists to join the Stand Tall and Remain in School (STARS) program. The program provides school-based mental health services to students in kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) in Carroll County Public Schools, focusing on addressing school refusal behavior and associated mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to students in grades K-12, with a focus on addressing factors contributing to school avoidance.
- Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate mental health, emotional, and behavioral needs related to school refusal and chronic absenteeism.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with school personnel, families, and other service providers to coordinate care and ensure a comprehensive support system for each student.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency, school district, and legal standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities related to school-based mental health services.
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 clients, weekly sessions with students and families.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline;
- Licensed in the state of Maryland as a LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC;
- Previous experience doing psychotherapy desired.
- Ability to manage, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time.
- Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the practice service population.
- Empathy and compassion.
- Excellent customer service, listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Understanding of managed care concepts and willingness to provide treatment within that system. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Compensation
$63,500 - $85,000 based on licensure, experience, and if bilingual Spanish
