How You'll Contribute
This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.
- Counsels patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
- Communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
- Works well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members.
- Demonstrates active communication with team members.
- Communicates effectively with Utilization Review on treatment and Length of Stay issues.
- Completes appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Affords assistance during crisis situations to ensure patient safety.
- Completes accurate assessments of patients using clinical skills.
- Assists in care coordination as requested.
- Completes all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.
- Ensures adherence to confidentiality and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Displays a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws.
- Involves actively in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes.
Qualifications And Requirements
Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients is preferred.
- Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent required.
- Licenses: Current clinical or social work license as required by state regulations.
- Certifications: CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire.
