Role Overview
This position involves evaluating and assessing patients to establish functional, measurable goals aimed at restoring abilities. The therapist provides treatment based on a written plan of care, monitors progress, and adjusts interventions as needed. Responsibilities include documenting care, developing discharge plans with patient and family education, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. The role may involve supervising clinical students, support staff, and participating in hospital committees to enhance healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients through subjective and objective data collection.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Administer treatments aligned with established goals.
- Document interventions and patient progress accurately.
- Reassess patient status and modify plans accordingly.
- Provide discharge planning, education, and resource referrals.
- Support staff and student development.
- Engage in activities to improve healthcare services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification within 14 days of hire are required.
- Preferred additional training or certifications in primary practice area.
