About the Role
Evaluates and assesses patients to establish functional, measurable goals to promote restoration of functional abilities. Provides treatment according to a written plan of care to meet established goals. Plans for discharge and communicates findings and progress according to professional licensure, scope of practice, and departmental policies. Produces reports as needed. May supervise clinical students and support staff, including certified/licensed assistants, technicians, and volunteers. Provides leadership support, participates on hospital committees, and serves as a resource for performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and assesses the patient based on subjective and objective information.
- Develops a written plan of care.
- Provides treatment according to established goals on the plan of care.
- Documents interventions and care in the patient's medical record.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care and reassesses the patient's functional status.
- Provides discharge planning information, including patient/family education, follow-up, and referral to community resources.
- Contributes to the development of staff and students.
- Participates in activities designed to improve healthcare delivery.
- Completes assigned goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience or advanced training and certification in the area of primary assignment.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Occupational Therapy (OT) licensure required.
- BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
Preferred: Advanced training and/or certification in the area of primary practice.
