About the role
Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to delivering person-centered behavioral health crisis care. Since 1992, we have provided timely, compassionate, and community-based support to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges across Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of crisis and stabilization services for clients with diverse behavioral health needs.
- Conduct behavioral health assessments for individuals in acute crisis.
- Collaborate with peers, nurses, and other professionals to deliver crisis interventions, de-escalation, and supportive counseling.
- Coordinate care with support systems, arranging transportation to ERs, shelters, or outpatient services as needed.
- Refer individuals to outpatient facilities and services using established processes.
- Deliver short-term, evidence-based counseling within scope of practice, supporting both individuals and their families.
- Participate in MCRSS and other professional trainings.
- Serve as a liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with BCRI policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
- Perform additional authorized tasks aligned with the role.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work (MSW).
- Maryland licensure: LGPC, LMSW, LCPC, or LCSW-C (supervision provided for LGPCs and LMSWs).
- At least 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and crisis intervention skills.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with EHR/EMR systems preferred.
Qualifications
