About the role

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to delivering person-centered behavioral health crisis care. Since 1992, we have provided timely, compassionate, and community-based support to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges across Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of crisis and stabilization services for clients with diverse behavioral health needs.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments for individuals in acute crisis.
  • Collaborate with peers, nurses, and other professionals to deliver crisis interventions, de-escalation, and supportive counseling.
  • Coordinate care with support systems, arranging transportation to ERs, shelters, or outpatient services as needed.
  • Refer individuals to outpatient facilities and services using established processes.
  • Deliver short-term, evidence-based counseling within scope of practice, supporting both individuals and their families.
  • Participate in MCRSS and other professional trainings.
  • Serve as a liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with BCRI policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
  • Perform additional authorized tasks aligned with the role.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work (MSW).
  • Maryland licensure: LGPC, LMSW, LCPC, or LCSW-C (supervision provided for LGPCs and LMSWs).
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and crisis intervention skills.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with EHR/EMR systems preferred.

Qualifications

Pay

$34–$38 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time and Part-Time | Shifts Available: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM | Monday- Friday
