About the role
The Program Therapist is an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing direct patient care. Major job functions include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and family sessions.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group therapy
- Conduct crisis intervention
- Perform psychosocial assessments
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Facilitate family sessions
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health field; experience with children ages 5-11 preferred
- Experience in providing direct care, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and treatment planning
- Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field (e.g., LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCDC)
- Handle with Care training must be completed within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures
- Competencies administered within 90 days of hire and annually via test taking, return demonstration, or simulation
- Required to work flexible hours, overtime, some holidays, and weekends
- TB Test and CPR certification must be completed prior to working with patients
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies
