Therapist - Intensive Outpatient Unit

Riverview is the premier psychiatric center in Texarkana, Arkansas, where children, adolescents, and adults receive comprehensive inpatient help for mental health challenges. We are a 62-bed psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 11-17) suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. About the role

This position will serve in our Intensive Outpatient Unit for adult patients.

Purpose

Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral.

Responsibilities

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat diagnosed emotional and mental disorders.
• Conduct individual, group, or family therapy as appropriate for the treatment plan.
• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
• Provide initial treatment planning based on assessment and coordinate additional services as needed.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services according to facility and professional standards.
• Maintain a caseload as assigned.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate patient services.
• Provide case management, discharge planning, or after-care planning according to the treatment plan.
• Educate and train staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention, if needed.
• Coordinate clinical, psychosocial, or educational activities with patients and their families.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are required.
• Assist in training new clinical staff and interns.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients and staff.
• Prioritize patient safety and work to resolve complaints when needs are not met.
• Perform other assigned functions and tasks.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or another therapeutic field.
• Arkansas state licensure for professional therapy providers: LMSW/LCSW or LPC/LAC.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
