About the role

Canopy Children's Solutions, Mississippi’s most comprehensive nonprofit provider of children’s behavioral health, educational, and family support solutions, seeks an in-CIRCLE Program Therapist to deliver mental-health services to children and families. The therapist is responsible for clinical oversight, intervention planning, and documentation within the in-Circle Program, working closely with CPS, the in-Circle team, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CPS, the in-Circle Program team, and family to address mental-health service needs.
  • Develop the Crisis Management Plan within 24 hours of admission and review it at every Family Team Meeting, case-plan review, or after any crisis intervention.
  • Complete programmatic assessments within designated timeframes and use feedback to plan clinical interventions.
  • Establish initial clinical goals, objectives, and interventions for the case plan in coordination with the in-Circle team, CPS, and family.
  • Facilitate the initial Family Team Meeting with the CPS caseworker and conduct weekly case-plan reviews, monitoring and documenting progress toward service goals.
  • Implement clinical treatment interventions based on the case plan and the individualized needs of the family.
  • Provide and coordinate strength-based, family-centered clinical services in partnership with family members, CPS, community agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Carry out quality-assurance activities as assigned and prepare required program reports.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and be familiar with all emergency procedures.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences within the organization and service population.
  • Promote Canopy Children’s Solutions programs and services to the public.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating a discharge/aftercare plan with the family and CPS from admission through discharge.
  • Provide 24/7 crisis intervention as needed and transportation when necessary.
  • Utilize and accept clinical supervision to ensure quality mental-health services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid and current mental-health certification (PCMHT or CMHT) and/or license (LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFTA) within 30 days of employment.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral-health field.
  • At least two years of clinical experience working with children and youth with serious emotional disturbances in a similar or more restrictive placement environment and families with complex needs.
  • Minimum age of 21, valid driver license, good driving record, proof of legally required auto liability insurance, and willingness to use personal vehicle for organization business.
