Therapist - Full Service Partnership Wraparound

About the role

The Therapist is responsible for providing individual, family, collateral, and individual adult psychotherapy to clients in the FSPW program. The Therapist works closely with county and community partners, including providing consultation and collaboration to Child and Family Teams to achieve client progress and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• (65%) Individual and Family Therapy
  • Schedule and coordinate therapy sessions
  • Assemble necessary materials for therapy sessions
  • Meet with clients for individual and/or family therapy sessions
  • Assess clients’ needs and level of functioning
  • Provide crisis counseling to children/families, as necessary
  • Inform agency staff or caregivers of critical issues identified during therapy sessions
  • Attend Child and Family Team meetings, including providing consultation and advocacy for clients
  • Utilize best and/or promising practices for treatment in coordination with Clinical Program Manager
  • Communicate with County Social Worker on issues concerning clients
  • Research new materials, approaches, and engage in trainings of best, evidence-based, and promising practices
  • Ensure collaboration with any other service provided to youth, including after-care as needed
• (20%) Documentation
  • Write progress notes for all services within deadline requirements
  • Complete appropriate County mental health (EPSDT) paperwork, including initial and annual authorizations
  • Participate in internal and external utilization review as assigned
  • Complete UR documentation in relation to this assignment
  • Periodically review charts for new and/or relevant information concerning clients
  • Coordinate the completion of mental health performance outcomes
  • Assist Family Facilitator with treatment planning when needed
• (10%) Training and Consultation
  • Attend meetings and provide consultation when needed
  • Serve as a consultant to Clinical Program Manager, psychiatrist, county social workers, and other staff
  • Prepare and provide staff training
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings with therapy supervisor if unlicensed, to comply with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) licensing requirements
  • Licensed Therapists who have met California BBS requirements may provide weekly supervision for unlicensed clinicians to help them obtain licensing hours, as assigned by the Clinical Program Manager
  • Assess and determine when special services or care is needed for a child (e.g., medication evaluation, psychiatric hospitalization, or specialized outpatient therapies) in consultation with the Clinical Program Manager

  • Attend external training/conferences to stay current with developments
  • Present information gathered at conferences during weekly clinical meetings
  • Attend IEP (Individual Education Planning) meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to function independently and seek guidance when necessary
• Driving is an essential function of this job; employees must furnish their own vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain minimum insurance coverage
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Qualifications

• Licensed Therapist: Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, plus a license issued by the California BBS as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC
• Unlicensed Therapist: Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, plus registration by the California BBS as an ASW, AMFT, or APCC
• Unlicensed Therapists must receive LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC license within six years of initial registration with the California BBS to meet Sacramento County contract requirements

• Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV)

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm, with evenings and/or weekends as needed

Pay

$70,304.00 annually, plus up to $10,000 annual productivity bonus and $7,500 a year if licensed
