Centerstone is seeking therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Develop therapeutic rapport with clients – Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in development of therapeutic relationship.
- Diagnostic Assessment – Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented, identify need for risk assessment (to include substance use assessments).
- Concurrent Documentation – Completes documentation within 24 hours.
- Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues.
- Treatment Planning – Developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals/objectives and plans per ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual based on their identified strengths.
- Therapeutic Interventions – Use of empirically based modalities to engage and manage their mental health or substance abuse diagnosis.
- Progress notes completed within current agency guidelines.
- Responds to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads. This includes telephones and face to face intervention.
- Keeps administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization.
Skills
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Coordination, ability to organize, and plan are critical for this role.
- Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision making regarding consumers.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- A Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling.
- License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
- OR Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.
- Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas:
- Clinical treatment and treatment planning
- Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
- Psych
