Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify client needs and goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using counseling psychology and psychotherapy techniques
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address mental health issues and promote healing
- Provide crisis intervention and support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or life transitions
- Utilize anger management strategies and other therapeutic tools to help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers and social workers, to coordinate holistic care
- Stay current with best practices and emerging research in mental health counseling and therapy
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field
- Professional licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and ethical standards in mental health care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, adults, and families
- Training or certification in specialized therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Experience in group therapy facilitation and family systems therapy
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms
- Additional certifications in areas such as trauma-informed care or substance abuse counseling
