Therapist
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Centerstone is seeking a therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This role involves working with a multi-disciplinary team and does not require weekend or on-call work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop therapeutic rapport with clients
- Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in the development of therapeutic relationships
- Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented, identify need for risk assessment (including substance use assessments)
- Complete concurrent documentation within 24 hours
- Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues
- Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise overall treatment goals/objectives and plans based on ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual
- Complete progress notes within current agency guidelines
- Respond to supervisory requests for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads, including telephones and face-to-face intervention
- Keep administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Coordination, ability to organize, and planning are critical for this role
- Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner
- Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision-making regarding consumers
Qualifications
- Education Requirements: A Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling. License-eligible in respective discipline preferred. OR Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria: Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework. Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas: Clinical treatment and treatment planning, Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders, Psychopathology, Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience Requirements: Clinical experience is required. This may be fulfilled through clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s degree program.

Starting Salary Range
$50,000 - $55,000
