About the role
Abraxas Youth & Family Services is a 53-year-old organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth, adults, and families. Services include alternative education, outpatient counseling, in-home services, shelter, detention, residential treatment, and re-entry/transition services.
Responsibilities
- Completes Assessments: Administers and completes client screening and assessment tools such as ERASOR, J-SOAP, and Psychosocial Assessment.
- Serves as a member of the treatment team: Participates in ongoing assessment of client needs.
- Maintains security and confidentiality of client information.
- Develops and Implements Treatment Plans: Reviews client records, develops individualized treatment plans, and coordinates with external agencies.
- Provides Group, Individual, and Family Therapy: Conducts sessions, monitors progress, and ensures compliance with clinical programming.
- Performs Crisis Intervention as needed: Provides immediate assistance during emergencies.
- Maintains Necessary Documentation: Completes required logs, reports, and ensures compliance with facility rules and standards.
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- Experience in social work, crisis intervention, and counseling within substance abuse and mental health fields, including juvenile sex offender and sexual abusing behavior youth.
- Thorough knowledge of current health/mental health issues, available community/clinical resources, and best practice therapeutic intervention skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in the social science field and at least two years of related experience.
