About the role
The Therapist is a licensed professional in New Jersey, recovery-oriented with a trauma-informed approach to care. This role involves treating adults using evidence-based practices, participating in a multidisciplinary team, and developing clinical skills. The position is fully in-office with clients.
Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough intake assessments, formulates diagnoses based on clinical presentation, and determines appropriate level of care.
- Outlines preliminary treatment plans addressing the immediate needs of the client, including identification of individual needs and how these will be addressed.
- Facilitates individual, family, and group therapy, ensuring groups start and end on time, preparing required materials, and improving group processes based on population needs.
- Provides case management as needed, including advocacy, consultation, service coordination, and contact with community resources and professionals. Documents all interactions.
- Responds to mental health crises, such as walk-ins and access calls.
- Develops individualized treatment plans and reviews client progress within required timeframes, specifying problems in behavioral/observable terms.
- Collaborates with the Treatment Team to identify clients at risk for discharge due to lack of contact, creatively engages vulnerable populations, and makes at least 3 attempts to engage clients (more in high-risk cases).
- Participates in performance improvement activities as assigned.
- Completes all medical record documentation within 24 hours.
- Consults with Leadership to determine a schedule that meets the needs of the population served.
- Participates in weekly supervision with a clinical supervisor and attends treatment team meetings, including agency-wide clinical case reviews.
- Complies with NJ state regulations outlining requirements to practice with a provisional mental health license.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or another recognized mental health discipline.
- NJ licensure as LCSW or LPC.
- Experience working with adults with a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures as outlined in the HR Manual and Employee Handbook.
