Serenity Knolls, located in the San Geronimo Valley just 10 minutes west of Fairfax, is a 12-step based, social model residential treatment center with 42 beds serving individuals aged 18 and older, including 6 beds designated for detox. We combine traditional social models of care with contemporary cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and evidence-based practices.

About the role

Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral.

Responsibilities

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders in individuals and families.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
• Provide individual, group, or family therapy sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan.
• Develop and revise initial treatment plans based on assessments, coordinating additional services as needed.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services according to facility and professional standards.
• Maintain a caseload as assigned.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate patient services.
• Perform case management, discharge, or aftercare planning as needed.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients.
• Address and resolve patient complaints to ensure needs are met.
• Prioritize patient safety at all times.
• Perform other assigned functions and tasks.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Human Services field.
• One or more years’ experience working with a comparable patient population.
• Requisite state or national licensure for professional therapy providers, or eligibility for state licensure as a professional therapy provider.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
• Ability to commute to Forest Knolls, CA 94933 (relocation preferred before starting work).

Pay

Rate of pay: $32–$40 per hour.
