Job Responsibilities
- Maintain required billable service criteria.
- Conduct behavioral assessments, functional behavior assessments (FBAs), and music therapy assessments as required.
- Develop and implement individualized music therapy strategies based on person-centered goals and objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) that meet regulatory standards and address each individual’s needs.
- Train, coach, and support direct support professionals, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members on behavioral supports, proactive strategies, music therapies techniques, replacement behaviors, and intervention implementation.
- Maintain systems for collecting required program-specific data and outcome measures.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain objective behavioral and therapeutic data to monitor progress toward individualized goals.
- Modify Behavior Support Plans, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions annually and as needed based on assessment findings and data.
- Participate in Individual Support Plan (ISP), Person-Centered Planning (PCP), interdisciplinary team meetings, psychiatric appointments, discharge planning meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
- Seek input from and maintain effective communication with interdisciplinary team members, families, caregivers, supervisors, and other professionals.
- Complete all required clinical documentation, assessments, progress notes, billing documentation, and reports in accordance with agency, state, federal, Medicaid, and licensing requirements.
- Implement age-appropriate, engaging therapeutic activities that support treatment goals.
- Participate in departmental meetings, agency meetings, required trainings, continuing education, and ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with individuals served, families, staff, and community partners.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following Behavioral Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA); or
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field with applicable licensure and coursework in human behavior, behavioral assessment, treatment planning, and a minimum of two years of experience providing behavioral supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Music Therapist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy
- Maintain status as Board Certified Music Therapist
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
