Therapeutic Recreation Assistant Per Diem

About the role

Perform diversified duties to assist in Therapeutic Recreation activities.

Schedule

• Per Diem (must be available weekends)
• Sundays: 9:30am–11:30am & 1:00pm–8:00pm
• Mondays: 5:00pm–9:00pm
• Tuesdays: 5:30pm–8:00pm
• Wednesdays: 5:30pm–8:00pm
• Thursdays: 5:30pm–8:00pm

Responsibilities

• Prepare activity rooms, obtain and set up any equipment required for scheduled activity.
• Transport residents by wheelchair or escort ambulatory residents.
• Set up and organize residents with their individual or group projects and assist as necessary.
• Encourage participation, interest, and motivate residents in programs.
• Straighten and maintain order in all activity areas and assure adequate inventory of supplies are maintained.
• Maintain records of resident activity attendance.
• Distribute nourishment during recreation activities.
• Attend and participate in a variety of staff meetings and in-services.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience: None required

Skills

• Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines
• Ability to read and communicate effectively
• Ability to utilize various software packages to carry out position responsibilities
