Therapeutic Recreation Assistant

About the role

The Therapeutic Recreation Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents at Cedarbrook Senior Care through engaging recreational activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the needs and interests of residents.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all residents.
• Document activities and progress in resident files as required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with seniors or in a similar field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
• Knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and best practices.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
