Essential Functions
- Observe, monitor, intervene, report, and document in patient’s EMR patient's social and interpersonal behavior and functional ability to perform as an independent individual in the community setting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in the patient’s EMR including ADL check sheets and intake/output.
- Carry out therapeutic activities designed by the clinical staff.
- Implement behavior management programs including the Levels system.
- Absorb and assist in residential ADL activities.
- Assist in the transport of patients to and from appointments, work, field trips, recreation activities, etc., as needed.
- Observe and document patient responses on ADL outings, such as shopping trips.
- Assist therapies upon request.
- Serve as a role model, at all times, maintaining professional dress and conduct.
- Participate in emergency procedure drills, including fire drills, evacuation drills, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend in-services and staff meetings.
- Assist in emergency situations including the implementation of fire alarm procedures and assist with the provision of first aid treatment in case of illness or injury.
- Provide a safe and secure environment for patients.
- Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, CARF and other accrediting bodies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Paycom, including timecard maintenance, employee scheduling and availability, PTO requests, and related workforce management activities.
Qualifications
- Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- The ability to work well with other people.
- Able to stimulate and motivate persons served with problems in motivation.
- Knowledge of social customs and responsibilities.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, innovation, and good judgment.
- Able to receive and follow instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of philosophical and ethical considerations in rehabilitation practice.
- Hold current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Able to communicate accurate and pertinent information through documentation.
- Able to execute emergency procedures.
- Able to work rotating shifts.
- Able to assist patients with transfer in a wheelchair.
- Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
- Current/valid Driver's license.
- Education:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience:
- Prefer at least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Program, or 1-2 years experience with disabled population dealing with cognitive problem, or 30-60 hours of college will be substituted for experience.
