Theatre Practitioner – Scrub
We’re looking for a Theatre Practitioner – Scrub to join our Theatre team at The Princess Grace Hospital. This role is centred around spinal surgery, and we’re specifically looking for someone with strong, hands-on spinal scrub experience who can confidently support complex procedures.
About the role
This role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), with shifts covering Monday to Saturday, including early starts, long days, late shifts, and on-call periods. The salary is competitive plus a shift allowance.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead scrub practitioner for spinal procedures, supporting both routine and complex cases
- Prepare and manage specialist spinal instrumentation, equipment, and sterile fields
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons during spinal surgery and provide skilled, responsive support
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Maintain high standards of infection control, safety, and clinical practice within theatres
Requirements
- Proven and recent scrub experience in spinal surgery is essential
- A minimum of two years’ experience working as a scrub practitioner in theatres
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification with a valid NMC or HCPC registration
- Strong knowledge of perioperative practice and spinal instrumentation
- A team-focused approach with confident communication skills
