About the role
The primary function of the Theatre Management Intern is to provide technical and administrative support for The Vista operations. This position requires a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the operation, with night and weekend work required.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Theatre Technician with technical duties in the Vista (lights/sound/backstage).
- Maintain technical inventory paperwork as needed.
- May assist with the artist hospitality on performance days and/or fill technician function as assigned by Theatre Technician.
- May assist House Manager with will-call and at-the-door ticket sales in theatre lobby prior to scheduled events.
- Performs administrative support duties as required, including clerical functions.
- Represents The Vista to the public in a positive manner; provides customer assistance and service to patrons.
- May be required to attend other local events to sell tickets and provide public relations and information.
- Acts as a Dysart team member along with other staff members.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements: High School Senior.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides comparable knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifications
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Knowledge Of Standard Technical Theatre knowledge of Lighting, Audio, Stage Management, etc.
- Standard office and customer service practices and procedures.
- Standard Box Office policies and procedures.
- Computer programs including MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Folio box office program, donor programs, e-mail, publication programs; Social Media such as Facebook.
- Safe working practices and standard procedures in a theatrical environment; cash management, credit card processing, and financial record keeping.
- Skill In Working independently and with little supervision.
- Understanding written and verbal instructions and applying them to the task at hand.
- Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Performing a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
- Demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness, integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Demonstrating continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly.
- Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an indoor Theatre where the employee may be exposed to moderate risk; and moderate exposure to inadequate lighting, movement restrictions and intense noise.
