Temporary adjunct instructor position at Bakersfield College – Panorama Campus, Industrial Technology department. Applications remain active for up to two years and may be contacted as needs arise.

Pay

$67.00 hourly. Rate may vary based on assignment type and Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula; refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or college HR for details.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years related professional experience; OR
  • Associate degree AND 6 years related professional experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience, and accomplishments in the field (candidates must submit an Application for Equivalence form with supporting documents).

All degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a NACES or ACEI member service.

A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Broad preparation and depth of knowledge in the discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment promoting innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
  • Ability to work with students of varying skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
  • Ability to develop curriculum, including for different modalities.
  • Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency.
  • Ability to assess student learning outcomes.
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies benefiting the program.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
