Theatre, Gallery and Event Staff (Part Time)

About the role

The Theatre, Gallery and Event Staff positions at Rutgers University-Camden-FASC assist with the production of theatrical and gallery events, including set design, lighting, sound, and special effects. Front-of-house operations and audience support are also included.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the construction of scenery and set designs for productions, concerts, and events in theaters and galleries.
• Set up and operate lighting, sound equipment, props, and special effects during performances and events.
• Support front-of-house operations, including ticketing, ushering, and audience engagement.
• May lead teams in audio, lighting, video, stage management, and scenic carpentry.

Requirements

• Live technical theater and stage hand experience, or experience with audience development and front-of-house operations.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in an administrative and/or supervisory function.
• Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in a specialized discipline, such as research, project management, or management.
• At least five years of experience and/or increasing functional responsibility in a leadership/managerial role, with a minimum of three years of related experience if a master’s degree is not required.

Skills

Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
