Theater Technical Specialist

About the role

The Technical Specialist will oversee all technical aspects of the theater while in use by Cambridge Public Schools (CPS), the City of Cambridge, and outside renters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the space for the arrival of the user
• Aid in the operation of theatrical lighting and sound
• Advise on staging and possible stagecraft development
• Ensure proper use and care of CPS equipment and the facility
• Be familiar with Eos family of lighting control, Soundcraft Digital series of sound control, basic microphone and speaker placement, and computer (pc/mac) and projector use
• Act as a representative of CPS and possess excellent communication and customer service skills
• Work with young learners and community members

Requirements

• Experience and strong knowledge of technical theater
• Knowledge of technical theater boards, panels, and equipment
• Customer Service experience

Qualifications

Candidates must have experience and strong knowledge of technical theater, including familiarity with technical theater boards, panels, and equipment, and customer service experience.

Pay

Hourly rate is dependent upon collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. Non-exempt employees may be paid time and a half for hours worked over 40.
