About the role
The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Gaelic Writer in Residence to contribute to the promotion and development of Gaelic literature and language.
Responsibilities
- Create original literary works in Gaelic.
- Engage with the university community and the public through readings, workshops, and events.
- Support and mentor emerging Gaelic writers.
- Collaborate with academic departments to integrate Gaelic literature into broader cultural and educational initiatives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in written and spoken Gaelic.
- Demonstrated experience as a published writer in Gaelic.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences through literary events and workshops.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
