About the role

The Lead Dance Instructor is a senior-level recreational arts position responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality dance instruction for youth and adults at the Hayden Center. This role includes curriculum development, choreography support for showcases, instructor mentorship, parent communication, and ensuring the overall excellence and safety of all dance programming. The Lead Dance Instructor provides technical and artistic leadership while creating a positive, enriching environment for participants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dance curriculums for various age groups and skill levels.
  • Support choreography for dance showcases and events.
  • Mentor and train other instructors to enhance their teaching skills.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and participants about dance classes and events.
  • Educate participants on dance techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of experience instructing or assisting in dance programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of instructors.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in dance instruction and/or event coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local dance styles and trends.

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits

  • Sick-Time: 1.38 hours earned per 30 hours worked.
  • Hayden Center Membership: Free individual gym membership for part-time, year-round employees.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $2,000 per calendar year after 1 year of consecutive service for degreed programs or certifications that aid the employees' career and employment.

Pay

$26.00 – $30.00 / hour, depending on qualifications.

Schedule

Part-Time, typically 2-15 hours per week, depending on programming.
