About the role
We’re excited to share a new opportunity for a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to support the growth of a global SaaS company with remote teams. You will lead accounting, bookkeeping, monthly closing, local tax matters, audit, and financial reporting for the Norway entity while overseeing UK accounting and bookkeeping. This role focuses on implementing best-in-class financial processes, governance, and automation to drive efficiency and compliance. You’ll collaborate with global teams, support the Finance Director and CFO, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and be accountable for the monthly closing process and annual audit of Norway entities, as well as the UK entity as part of an existing team.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting documents for audit and monthly reporting.
- Support tax compliance matters in partnership with tax teams.
- Analyze and diagnose existing financial processes, proposing improvements to governance, controls, and efficiency.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting.
Requirements
- Accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent) with a strong academic record (BA, BSc, or equivalent, 2:1 or higher).
- Proven experience in management and statutory accounts, IFRS, bookkeeping, reporting, and audit.
- Accounting and tax compliance experience in Norway and the UK.
- Fluency in both English and Norwegian.
- Strong accounting, financial controls, and financial knowledge with practical experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, including manipulating large datasets, pivot tables, filtering, and lookups.
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills, preferably with commercial exposure.
- Project management skills to drive implementation of systems and processes with internal and external teams.
Skills
- Sage ERP (and modules) experience preferred but not required.
- SAP Hana ERP (and modules) experience preferred but not required.
