The Barn Café is seeking a friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable team member to join our family-friendly brand. We pride ourselves on serving locally sourced, value-for-money dishes in a warm and welcoming environment. As part of our team, you’ll help create a comfortable space for customers to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company.

About the role

At The Barn Café, you’ll contribute to delivering consistent, high-quality food and service in a relaxed setting. Our team is dedicated to preparing dishes with care, using trusted ingredients, and ensuring every customer feels welcome—whether they’re stopping by for a quick lunch, enjoying a leisurely meal with family, or relaxing with a book from our reading corner.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service in a fast-paced café environment.
Prepare and serve food and beverages, including our signature dishes and homemade coffee.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming workspace for both customers and team members.
Assist with taking orders, processing payments, and managing online pre-orders for collection.
Support the café’s loyalty program by engaging with customers and promoting rewards.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations during peak and off-peak hours.

Requirements

Experience in hospitality, customer service, or a similar role is preferred but not required—we value a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
Flexibility to work weekends, mornings, or afternoons as needed (see schedule below).
Passion for food, coffee, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.

Schedule

Mon – Wed: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Thurs – Sat: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Sun: 10:00am – 4:00pm
