About the role
The Youth Worker will facilitate The INN's mission of planting multiplying churches in unreached diaspora communities throughout the United States, collaborating with established INN teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate ministry among children, youth, and young adults in assigned communities.
- Address the challenges of reaching first and second-generation diaspora children and youth as they acclimate to life in the US.
- Provide ministry oversight and direction for community connections, outreach, discipleship, and youth meetings that are age and culturally appropriate.
- Aim to attract, win, disciple, and equip children and youth through regular one-to-one and group interactions, Bible study, worship, service, and outreach.
- Serve as spiritual leaders and role models.
Requirements
- Mature Christian: Evidence of Christ-like character with a humble spirit and a listening heart.
- Theological Training: Beneficial, but not required.
- Knowledge: Youth ministry, discipleship, and education concepts and methods.
- Administrative and Logistical Skills: Develop and coordinate ministry schedules, manage volunteer assignments, and supervise day-to-day activities of youth, etc.
- Training and Development: Effective communication skills to provide training for children and youth locally and in conjunction with the local team.
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience or training in Youth Ministry.
Qualifications
- Passion and skill to reach first and second-generation diaspora children and youth with the gospel.
- Ability to disciple and equip children and youth for a future of serving the Lord.
- Recruit and help train volunteers, ensuring adequate adult-to-youth ratios.
- Manage youth ministry budgets and maintain records of youth participation.
- Communicate with children, youth, and parents in a timely manner, fostering mutual support with the families of the children served.
- Ensure compliance with Child Safeguarding Policies in all children and youth ministry settings.
