Responsibilities
- Developing lesson plans
- Meeting the individual needs of the children
- Positive parent, colleague and student communication
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Building teamwork
- Using assessment tools
Requirements
- A Bachelors degree or high in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Child Development or a related field
- BA or higher in a related field that includes 18 Credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education that includes 18 semesters hours of courses directly related to young children birth to age 8
- At least 1 year of experience working with children ages 6wks-6yrs of age
- Has completed or is currently taking ECE 101 and ECE 103 or 111 or level two trainings on PDIS
