About the role

The Goddard School seeks dedicated educators to join our team. This position involves diaper changes, potty training, developing lesson plans, meeting individual child needs, positive communication, staff meetings, designing classroom arrangements, interacting with children, setting expectations, planning activities, communicating with parents, building teamwork, using assessment tools, continuing education, competitive compensation, paid benefits, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Diaper changes throughout the day/potty training, if a Resource Teacher or in classrooms under the age of three
  • Developing lesson plans
  • Maintaining individual needs of the children
  • Positive communication with parents and colleagues
  • Participation in staff and training meetings
  • Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
  • Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
  • Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
  • Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
  • Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
  • Building teamwork
  • Using assessment tools
  • Committing to continuing education

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or high GPA in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development or a related field
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field that includes 18 credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education that includes 18 semester hours of courses directly related to young children birth to age 8
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks - 6 years old
  • Completion or current enrollment in ECE 101 and ECE 103 or equivalent level two trainings on PDIS
