The Cub House Paraprofessional

About the Role

Join our team as a co-teacher in our one-year-old room at the Neosho Cub House staff daycare. You will work with babies aged 12 months to 18 months, engaging in activities such as rocking, caring for, and interacting with them.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in developing, implementing, and monitoring a program to enhance students' academic and behavioral success
• Understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
• Assist in managing student behavior
• Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students
• Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with Board policy and law
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as requested by administration
• Help supervise the arrival and departure of assigned students
• Follow instructions from teachers and administrators
• Perform data collection as required by the teacher and administrators
• Conduct small group remediation as directed

Qualifications

There are four pathways available for candidates interested in becoming a Paraprofessional:

• Complete 60 hours of college credit
• Have an Associate's Degree or higher
• Complete the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPathways assessment
• Complete 20 hours of online training through DESE (Substitute Teacher Training) for a $180 registration fee
