Must enjoy rocking , caring for and interacting with babies age 12 months to 18 months. Summary The job of the Paraprofessional is to support the teacher-classroom in the development, implementation and monitoring of a program designed to enhance the success of students academically and behaviorally. Essential Duties And Responsibilities An individual who holds this position must: Have the ability to understand, and effectively carry out oral and written instructionsAssist in managing the behavior of studentsKeep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual studentsMaintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with Board policy and lawParticipate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events as requested by administrationHelp supervise arrival and departure of students to which he or she is assignedFollow instructions from teachers and administratorsData collection as required by teacher and administratorsSmall group remediation as directed Qualifications Education Requirements: There are four pathways available for candidates interested in becoming a Paraprofessional. Complete 60 hours of college credit Have an Associate's Degree or higher Complete Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPathways assessment Complete 20 hours of online training through DESE - There is a $180 registration fee. The online training title does not reference paraprofessionals, and is called Substitute Teacher Training. Substitute Teacher Training has been designated as an allowable qualification for paraprofessionals in the state of Missouri
