About the role
The Senior Cook is responsible for demonstrating expertise in a specialized cooking method or style, showcasing entertainment value, and assisting Sous Chefs in all culinary functions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure food items are properly stored, including raw materials and prepared items.
- Inspect all outgoing orders to ensure they are properly prepared, including portion control and garnishing for presentation.
- Ensure all items are available for consumption, such as soups, sauces, and gravies, prior to restaurant opening.
- Take inventory of all meats and seafood.
- Cook according to food specifications set in the recipe manual.
- Review production schedules to determine food requirements, including variety and quantity of food preparation.
- Complete production sheets and other records in conjunction with Sous Chefs as required.
- Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, and grills.
- Maintain proper food temperatures in accordance with regulatory and/or ServSafe standards.
- Properly label, date, and rotate all products to ensure safe keeping and sanitation.
- Work with Sous and Room Chefs in conjunction with daily operations.
- Teach and mentor Cooks and Production Cooks.
- Work harmoniously with others under a strenuous environment.
- Report to work well-groomed in full uniform and on time with badge on upper left side of uniform.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests.
- Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with all guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Culinary education/experience preferred.
- Three (3) years of advanced cooking skills required.
- Previous customer service experience required.

- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
- Work involves moderate exposure to hot and cold temperatures and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity is required along with the handling of objects up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risk, which requires following basic safety precautions.
Pay
Starting Rate: $19.84
Compensation Is Negotiable Based On Experience And Education.
Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
