The Country Club of Virginia is seeking an experienced, engaging, and service-minded Head Squash Professional to lead and elevate its squash program. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to become an integral part of one of the country’s premier private club environments while delivering an exceptional racquet sports experience for members of all ages and skill levels.
About the role
The Head Squash Professional will oversee squash programming, instruction, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and special events while building strong relationships with members and creating opportunities that encourage participation and strengthen the squash community. Working collaboratively with the Club’s racquet sports leadership team, the successful candidate will bring energy, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a member-first approach to the role, with a focus on growing participation, developing players, and creating a welcoming and engaging squash culture at The Country Club of Virginia.
The position will be based at the Club’s Westhampton campus, which features four state-of-the-art singles squash courts and one doubles court, along with aquatics, fitness, additional racquet sports facilities, and an 18-hole golf course.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and grow the squash program for all ages and skill levels
- Teach private and group lessons to juniors and adults
- Organize and run clinics, leagues, exhibitions, and social events
- Coordinate and host internal and external tournaments
- Develop junior programming with a focus on engagement, skill development, and progression
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive culture that supports member retention and new participation
- Maintain the squash facilities in coordination with maintenance staff
- Assist in budgeting, program marketing, and communication with members
- Support broader racquets and club-wide events as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Squash Professional or high-level player (collegiate or pro tour background preferred)
- Proven coaching ability with players of all ages and skill levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a member-first attitude
- Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $60,000–$80,000, with total annual compensation including commission from instruction.
Expected on-court hours: 25–30 hours per week on average.
