About the Role
Responsible for safely preparing food items, following menu specifications and standard recipes, for service to guests in all outlets, while maintaining the standards of the Family Style Service Program. This role strives for the highest possible standards of food preparation and presentation in each food outlet.
Responsibilities
- Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and team members, and demonstrates resilience in dealing with difficult guests under varying business conditions.
- Operates kitchen equipment including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, combi-oven, dicing machine, and griddles.
- Actively participates with staff to cook, prepare, dish-up, and assemble food in all outlets.
- Promotes positive kitchen activity and reports inappropriate activity to the Chef or Lead on duty.
- Maintains health department standards, including product dating, rotation, proper food temperatures, and overall food quality and appearance.
- Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of product for guests.
- Submits recipes and menu input as directed by kitchen management.
- Works in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Acts as a customer experience owner, surprising and delighting guests to leave them with positive feelings about the property.
- Maintains a "yes we can" attitude for every guest, every time.
- Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
- Works all shifts as business warrants, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Wears black, slip-resistant shoes and maintains proper uniform and professional appearance at all times.
- Demonstrates knowledge of workplace safety procedures and completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
- Complies with drug and alcohol-free workplace policies, subject to post-offer, for-cause, and post-accident drug tests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including food preparation and sanitation equipment and chemicals.
- Walking/standing 100% of the time, with 10% involving bending/lifting (overhead up to 50 lbs repetitively, push/pull 450 lbs on a wheeled cart, and 200 lbs as a team).
- Must report to work on time, in a neat and clean uniform, with well-groomed hair and proper personal hygiene.
- Encourages and abides by all health codes and hand-washing guidelines.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and communicate effectively to follow recipes, training documents, and warning labels.
- Must obtain/maintain a Cooper County Health Certification Card.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of food service experience required.
- Ability to work on a production line in ala carte or batch cooking style.
- Must have experience as a Prep Cook or equivalent.
