About the role

The Coffee Shop Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating resources to ensure efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of food and beverages. They provide professional, friendly, and efficient service to customers, maintaining quality food service and sales, and adhering to health code requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and effective service to customers and exceed wherever possible.
  • Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude toward guests, owners, and team members.
  • Serve as the point of contact for guest inquiries, resolving issues to a successful outcome.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and equipment, work areas, and counters or tables.
  • Monitor food and beverage preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, and presentation to maintain superior qualities.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, verifying product quality and quantity.
  • Supervise staff during work shifts, performing hiring, discipline, and scheduling duties.
  • Review work procedures and address operational problems to improve service, performance, and safety.
  • Maintain compliance with health regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
  • Know and perform all tasks associated with restaurant services and catering.
  • Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food and beverage quality and service.
  • Work with other management personnel to plan marketing, advertising, and special restaurant functions.
  • Develop/implement procedures to provide outstanding service while meeting budgetary requirements.
  • Be familiar with Beach Club emergency and safety procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years work experience managing restaurants in a Breakfast/Barista setting.
  • Above average computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, POS systems, and the ability to learn property-specific programs.
  • Excellent customer service/hospitality skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, ordering, and inventory.
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Process-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and motivate team members.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations, including liquor laws, health department, and OSHA requirements.
  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain ServSafe certification.
  • Knowledge of specialty coffees.
  • Knowledge of roasting coffee beans.
  • Knowledge of merchandising products.
  • Ability to work at 6 a.m. and 5-6 days as volume dictates.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for entire shift.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (ovens/freezers), outdoor heat, and humidity.
  • Ability to withstand frequent immersion of hands in water or sanitation solution to clean food or prep surfaces.

Compensation

$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
